On a bitter cold day in Baltimore in February, the light yielded these colors on these clouds. The colors were visible to the naked eye; some color boost and saturation brought them out more clearly, but those colors were there.
Steven Richman is an attorney practicing in New Jersey. He has lectured before photography clubs on various topics, including the legal rights of photographers. His photography has been exhibited in museums, is in private collections, and is also represented in the permanent collection of the New Jersey State Museum. He is the author of four photography books: The Bridges of New Jersey (Rutgers University Press), Mannequins (Schiffer Books), The Great Swamp (Schiffer Books) and Reconsidering Trenton (McFarland Publishers). This photo is amazing. The edges of the clouds really radiated these colors. I never saw clouds like these before- maybe it was the intense cold? Anyway, glad someone captured them.
