Sometimes shots through the window at over 30,000 feet up work, and often they don't. The lighting here was right, and this resembles as much ground as sky, at least to me. The different shades of blue brought to mind the Gershwin composition.
About Steven Richman
Steven Richman is an attorney practicing in New Jersey. He has lectured before photography clubs on various topics, including the legal rights of photographers. His photography has been exhibited in museums, is in private collections, and is also represented in the permanent collection of the New Jersey State Museum. He is the author of four photography books: The Bridges of New Jersey (Rutgers University Press), Mannequins (Schiffer Books), The Great Swamp (Schiffer Books) and Reconsidering Trenton (McFarland Publishers). Tis is really nice! At first it does appear to be a beach and then you see it is sky... I think the abstract play between the two is great and the color is beautiful!
